How to Make an Herbal Remedy for Herpes

Conventional treatments for the herpes virus include anti-viral drugs and prescription medications designed to relieve symptoms. While these drugs may effectively suppress the virus and help with symptoms, they are often expensive and accompanied by a wide variety of side effects. Alternatively, you can treat your symptoms at home with herbal remedies that are easy, inexpensive and effective.

Things You'll Need:

1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

2 tbsp. fresh burdock

Daily Herbal Vapor Bath Remedy

1

Boil 4 cups of water and add 2 tbsp. of eucalyptus oil, a handful of chamomile flowers and 2 tbsp. of aloe vera juice.

2

Allow the water to steep for at least five minutes, or until the water looks like strong tea.

3

Soak a thick towel in the hot water and cover the effected area, chest and throat.

4

Leave the towel in place until it begins to cool. Reapply as desired.

Herbal Infusion Remedy

1

Boil 2 1/2 cups of water and a half a cup of fresh lemon juice.

2

Add 2 tbsp. of the herb burdock and allow the liquid to steep for at least five minutes.

3

Drink two or three glasses daily.

Tips & Warnings

Eat a healthy diet that includes more raw fresh fruits and vegetables and natural juices. The most important part of making an herbal remedy effective is to treat your body with care. Remove excess fat and salt from your diet, don't eat meat during a herpes outbreak and refrain from alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, drugs and other stimulants.

When applying a vapor bath, be sure to lie in a warm room where cool air does not enter, as the heat of the vapor bath is pertinent. If the eucalyptus oil bothers the blisters, simply cover the affected area with a thin cloth or wear thin underwear.
